It"s time to get in the clean-up mode.

It's time to start the clean-up process... the Christmas projects are done for another year, and the dust has settled, so it's time. I may run across that catalog I lost, and get some fresh ideas, as everything gets put away. Do you have any secrets for organizing or storing "stuff" that you would like to share???

IS IT THE CHRISTMAS BLUES.....
Is it just me, or does anyone else feel so full of emptiness, no that's not quite right...deflated? Maybe that's it, I can't put my finger on it...it's been a month of preparation and thoughts about Christmas gifts...Christmas music...Christmas crafts...Christmas baking....and then "THE DAY" comes and flies by so quickly, and then it's OVER!!
There is no more hustle, bustle, no more anticipation, or excitement about seeing loved ones, or opening something special that's under the brightly, shining tree. Or what- ever else, you may have been wondering and dreaming about in regards to
Christmas day.
So as I wonder if I'm losing it, I think back to past years, and there seems to be that same familiar feeling, these thoughts have been "here" before.
And I realize it's OK, and tomorrow is a "NEW DAY" and it will all be better.
It has been a wonderful Christmas Season, and even with a wandering mind, I wouldn't change it for anything.
Thats' a good thing...

Merry Christmas to All

Well, it's only 3 more days until Christmas, and I have been listening to my Christmas CD's, I absolutely LOVE Christmas music. I will sure miss it, when the season is over. Tomorrow my daughter and I are meeting my sister and niece at the Irvine Spectrum, and I discovered I had need of a black, stylish, cross-body style handbag, and my "purse shelves" held no such item, can't imagine that, really, I thought I had every type of handbag....so I went into my studio and ended up with Black Magic. It will be just fine, and can you believe it, my wallet, and keys fit!!

Leaping lords, french hens, what do they have in common???

There is one Christmas Carol that has always baffled me.
What in the world do leaping frogs,French hens, swimming swans, and especially the partridge who won't come out of the pear tree have to do with Christmas?
This week, I found out.
From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were not permitted to practice their faith openly. Someone during that era wrote this carol as a catechism song for young Catholics. It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning plus a hidden meaning known only to members of their church. Each element in the carol has a code word for a religious reality which the children could remember.
The partridge in a pear tree was Jesus Christ.
Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments.
Three French hens stood for faith, hope and love.
The four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
The five golden rings recalled the Torah or Law, the first five books of the Old Testament.
The six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation.
Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit--Prophesy, Serving, Teaching, Exhortation, Contribution, Leadership, and Mercy.
The eight maids a-milking were the eight Beatitudes.
Nine ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit--Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control.
The ten lords a-leaping were the Ten Commandments.
The eleven pipers stood for the eleven faithful disciples.
The twelve drummers symbolized the twelve points of belief in the Apostles' Creed.
So there is your history for today.
Merry (Twelve Days of) Christmas Everyone!!!

Christmas...what does it mean to you???

Christmas...what exactly does the word mean, and how does it make you feel?? Sometimes I feel the month of December is nothing but a month of rushing around.
Crazy thoughts of making sure I bought the right gift.
Even crazier thoughts of thinking I'm actually going to bake "all" those new recipes I found.
It should be a time of remembering the actual "Reason For The Season" which is of course the birth of Jesus, so many years ago, in that tiny manger.
I hope you can slow yourself with all the hustle and bustle and take time to
reflect on what Christmas really means....to you!
